Lala’s Journey

Lala’s Journey is a 5-chapter children’s book that can be shared with families going through the refugee experience.

A 5-week curriculum is available for volunteers or professionals to lead kids through a hands-on experience of the skills taught in the book. Training is required (online or in-person) before teaching the curricula. The curriculum and training are available for purchase. Echo International champions want to make this resource available to all by providing scholarships when helpful. Let us know if you are interested by sending us your information, below.

FIRST AID FOR THE SOUL

Each chapter of Lala’s Journey covers a skill helpful for stabilizing after trauma (returning to an emotional balance after a disturbing event). The lessons are adapted from The Journey from Life Transitions, an “interactive course for those who have been displaced due to war and persecution. It is designed to promote participants' emotional wellbeing and build their resilience.” Find out more about this adult version here.

EASY TO USE

The curriculum is designed for any one to be able to easily use with a family or group of children. Tips are given in the training on how to create a small group. Group work provides additional support by creating a safe community.
